Formed during the Cretaceous period, some 50 - 70 million years ago, Septarians are unlike any other natural stone formation. Found in only two places in the world, southern Utah & Madagascar, Septarian rocks are comprised of brown aragonite, grey limestone, clear barite and yellow calcite. Because each composite piece shows clearly and distinctly, Septarians, or Dragon Stones, are considered rare and singular. All of The Textured Element's Septarian pieces are US mined in Utah.
